1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ipdetecto.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Use of the Service

ipdetecto.com provides network intelligence tools including IP lookup, DNS lookup, speed testing, port scanning, and WHOIS queries. These tools are provided for legitimate network administration, security research, privacy testing, and educational purposes.

Permitted Uses

• ✓Checking your own IP address and network information
• ✓Network administration and troubleshooting
• ✓Security research and penetration testing (authorized systems only)
• ✓Educational and informational purposes
• ✓Verifying DNS configuration and propagation

Prohibited Uses

• ✗Unauthorized access, scanning, or probing of systems you do not own
• ✗Using port scanning tools against systems without explicit authorization
• ✗Automated scraping or bulk queries that circumvent rate limiting
• ✗Using the Service to facilitate illegal activities
• ✗Attempting to reverse engineer, modify, or disrupt the Service
• ✗Submitting false, misleading, or harmful content through our tools

3. Port Scanner and Security Tools

Our port scanner and network diagnostic tools are intended solely for use on systems you own or have explicit written authorization to test. Unauthorized port scanning may violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), similar laws in your jurisdiction, and the terms of service of the target's hosting provider. By using these tools, you represent that you have authorization to test the target system.

4. Rate Limiting and Fair Use

The Service implements rate limiting (100 requests per minute per IP) to ensure fair access for all users. Automated scripts and bots are not permitted. The speed test endpoints are exempt from rate limiting. Attempts to circumvent rate limiting may result in IP-level blocking.

5. Accuracy of Information

IP geolocation data is provided as-is from the MaxMind GeoLite2 database and may not be 100% accurate. Country-level accuracy is typically 95–99%; city-level accuracy is 50–80%. Do not use geolocation data for legal proceedings, law enforcement, or any decision that requires verified location data.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate, complete, or current. Use of the Service is at your sole risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ipdetecto.com and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes are effective upon posting. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
