Overview
ipdetecto.com is a privacy-first network intelligence platform. We are committed to building tools that respect user privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
Data We Collect
Data We Do NOT Collect

- ✓We do not log individual IP lookups to persistent storage
- ✓We do not store search queries or tool usage history tied to individuals
- ✓We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties for advertising
- ✓We do not use third-party enrichment APIs that receive your IP address
Data We Do Collect
- Server access logs: Standard HTTP logs including IP addresses, timestamps, and request paths. These are retained for up to 7 days for security monitoring and then deleted.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics for aggregate traffic analysis (page views, geographic regions, browser types). This data is anonymized and does not identify individual users. You can opt out using browser extensions.
- Google Ads: We display Google AdSense advertisements. Google may use cookies for ad personalization per their privacy policy. See google.com/policies/privacy for details.
How IP Geolocation Works
When you use our IP lookup tools, your IP address (or the IP you enter) is processed using MaxMind GeoLite2 databases stored locally on our servers. Your IP address is never forwarded to any third-party geolocation API. All processing happens on our infrastructure.
In-memory caching stores lookup results for up to 5 minutes to improve performance. This cache is not persisted to disk and is not associated with user identities.
Cookies
ipdetecto.com uses minimal cookies:
- Theme preference: A localStorage item storing your dark/light mode choice. Not a cookie, never sent to our servers.
- Google Analytics cookies: _ga, _gid — aggregate analytics. You can disable these via browser settings or extensions like uBlock Origin.
- Google Ads cookies: Used by Google's AdSense for ad serving and frequency capping. Opt out at google.com/settings/ads.
Data Security
All connections to ipdetecto.com are encrypted via TLS 1.2/1.3 (HTTPS). Server-side data is protected by standard infrastructure security practices. Server access logs are retained for a maximum of 7 days before automated deletion.
Third-Party Services
Aggregate page view statistics. Privacy-focused configuration with IP anonymization enabled.
Display advertising. Subject to Google's privacy policies.
IP geolocation database. All data is stored locally — no queries are sent to MaxMind per lookup.
